Eklingji Resort Cottage Design
Design and Permit Drawings
Developed with direct conversation with Client
The family cottage is located in the arid climate of Eklingji, Rajasthan, a state in Western India. The project came from a resort owner who wanted to develop a land with an additional resort. The design for the cottages was developed in close conversation with the client. The site visits involved looking at the site and his existing resort to convey his aspirations clearly. Detailed documentation was done to understand the requirements of the hospitality typology. After several iterations to optimize experience, budget and sustainable goals, a design was finalized and drawings were made for the permit. Initially designed as a single level cottage, the client decided to create an alternative for a 2 floor cottage doubling the occupancy. Last moment changes were done to resolve basic services and structure while retaining former design priorities.
